Sean Fenlon
Chief Executive Officer

Sean Fenlon founded DoublePositive Marketing Group in 2004 after recognizing the tremendous opportunity that exists at the intersection of data-driven online marketing and live-human-based call centers. Sean has led the company to its current position as the industry leader in “live” leads for sales professionals.

As CEO of DoublePositive, Sean is responsible for the company’s performance, strategic vision, and the continued development of DoublePositive’s patented business model and related optimization technologies.

Sean began his career as a mortgage broker, growing his organization into one of the largest in the region during the mid- to late-90s. In 1999, Sean was the founder and CEO of ListenSmart.com, a business that helped to shift the music industry paradigm and leverage new opportunities for independent musicians.

Most recently, Sean was the co-owner of TheLoanPage.com, an Internet mortgage leads company with a business model very similar to that of Lending Tree. Under his watch, TheLoanPage.com grew to over $10 million in sales and over $3 million EBIDTA before being sold to Battery Ventures at the end of 2003. The transaction represented the first-ever full acquisition of a company by Battery Ventures.

Sean received his Bachelor’s degree in music from Towson University and his Masters and Doctorate in Music from The Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University.

He began his career working for consulting leaders McKinsey & Company, Deloitte & Touche and Accenture, focusing on due diligence, risk management, post-merger integration strategy and information technology engagements.

After working in consulting, he spent 10 years at The NASDAQ Stock Market where he built the internal consulting group into a 13-person team that focused on multi-million dollar strategic and operational initiatives. He spent his final 7 years at NASDAQ as VP and GM of the e-commerce business unit, where he developed the business plan and built the unit into a $15M revenue contributor that was strongly cash flow positive. John also led NASDAQ’s international e-commerce efforts with the launch of European and Asian sites.

After NASDAQ, John partnered with multi-billion dollar private equity firm Veronis Suhler Stevenson and bought Media General Financial Services (MGFS), a Richmond, Va. based leading financial information firm. At MGFS, John served as COO and CTO and was instrumental in growing the business from $5M to $51M in revenue over two years. John also led the merger of MGFS with London Stock Exchange listed Hemscott PLC and the subsequent purchase of Bigdough Inc. After the merger, he served as EVP and Global Head of Operations for Hemscott, where he had responsibility for over 120 employees based in London, Richmond and Bethesda, Md. John was also instrumental in Hemscott’s acquisition of Corporate Fundamentals Inc. which led to outsourcing a significant portion of back office operations to Delhi, India.
